Sourcing Events (RFI, RFP, auction)
MSD conducts sourcing events via the SAP Ariba system. Suppliers will receive an email from our company (via the Ariba system) inviting them to participate in the event using the SAP Ariba system.
The guidance materials below can help you participate in a sourcing event using Ariba:
Step 2: Registration/Log on
The email invitation from our company requests you to participate in the event using your company’s SAP Business Network account.
Scenario 1 – Your company has an SAP Business Network account. The registration page will show your Company profile info. If you already have access, you can log on using the link in the email you received from our company.
NOTE: If the event invitation email contains a username, make sure you login to Ariba using that username

If you do not have access to your company’s account, you can either contact your company’s account administrator to provide you with access, or you can create a new account and then once created, link it to your company’s existing account.
Scenario 2 – Your company DOES NOT have an SAP Business Network account. Follow the steps in the Walk-up registration video to create an SAP Business Network account for your company.

How do I know if my company already has an Ariba account?
If your company already has an account, the fields on the Create account screen shown below in red font will be prepopulated.
Common error messages and resolution steps
If you receive this error message when attempting to log on, follow the steps to clear cookies and cache. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, contact the SAP Ariba Support team.
I received the “user already exists” error but don’t want to use a different username for this account.
You must create a different username to complete account creation. Once the account is created, follow the instructions in this support document to link it to your existing username.
Step 3: Sourcing Event Participation
Once your company is registered, be sure to assign the appropriate users in your company the “Access Proposals and Contracts” permission so that SAP Ariba Sourcing buyers can view and approve them to join events.
NOTE: The link in the email to access the event is valid for 2 days
NOTE: If the event invitation email contains a username, make sure you login to Ariba using that username.
NOTE: You must click on Review Prerequisites before you can participate in the event.
NOTE: You must accept the terms of the agreement before proceeding to the event.

How do I contact SAP Business Network Customer Support as a supplier?
Contact your account administrator if you have questions about the following areas:
Your account settings
- If you are an administrator, you control the settings for yourself and all other users on your company’s account.
- If you are not an administrator, contact your account administrator for assistance with requesting additional permissions, resetting your password, and configuring other user settings. To find out who your administrator is and how to contact that person, click your initials in the upper-right corner of your account and select Contact Administrator.
- If you are not sure who to contact at your customer’s organization, you can find the appropriate contact information in your account.
